WATAWATA #2
$77.00
In many cultures, mirrors are seen as gateways between worlds. They're believed to allow communication with ancestors, deities, or spirits, an are used in divinatory rites to "see beyond the veil."
WATAWATA #2 is an original hand-etched mirror from a limited series of sacred vulvic forms, created as devotional tools for ritual practice. This is piece is "fuzzy" as opposed to "clean" and one of only two made at the intimate 14.5" x 10" oval frame scale-- ideal for altars, shrines, and spaces of transformation.
Available for in-person viewing as part of the MINDSEYE exhibit exclusively at Vermillion Art Gallery in Seattle, WA USA until May 30, 2025. All orders will be shipped or available for pick-up after the exhibition closes.
On Divination
Mirrors are placed in sared spaces or worn as talismans to ward off malevolent spirits or negative energies. In Feng Shui, they bounce bad vibes right back to sender. In Voudou and Hoodoom mirrors sewn into clothing or placed on altars act as spiritual armor.
